Testimonials

"There comes a point in all of our lives where we are forced to make decisions and keep them.  I was faced with a Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosis and the generally accepted North American medical treatment; IV drugs.  The alternate decision was to go with diet change, exercise, and supplementation.  2yrs later, I weigh 100lbs less, eat a wonderful vegan diet and practice yoga every other day.  Making the decision to practice yoga is one that I will keep for the remainder of my life." ~Cynthia Hennig PMP CPhT

"Balance, harmony, healing, discovery, truth, safety, strength, fulfillment, free flow of energy, well being, emotional cure, purity, joy, calm, relaxation - Does this sound like a profile of a person with two jobs in public education, including high school freshman classes? For me – it does.

Yoga practice with Ranjana turns abstract wellness ideas into living experiences with a range of motion and emotion.  Physical and spiritual sensation of the ultimate good in each cell of the body defies words. But the facts remain: crams are gone, chronic pain in the neck and the back are things of the past, wrists are stronger than ever. Breathing techniques Ranjana teaches have proven invaluable in stress and time management. I am also grateful for numerous nutrition tips, the wonders of the neti pot, revitalization of hair growth after shirodhara (discovery of new gravitational dimensions  during the treatment deserves a special passage, as it was one of a kind experience that redefined my relationship with space in a profound way).

Ranjana has a unique way of acknowledging each student individually, yet creating a unity of experience for all– her very special school of yoga. Thank you, Teacher."   ~Irina Marchenko, Ph.D.

"The benefits of yoga classes have been extraordinarily positive. It has certainly been the most sensible decision I hae ever made."  ~V. Murthi, Software Engineer NEC America Inc, now residing in India

"I have been attending Ranjana's class for over two years. I have benefited greatly physically and emotionally from the class. It has enhanced my flexibility. I feel that a side benefit I had (which I was not expecting!) was that it helped my thyroid. I enjoyed the class thoroughly and would like to keep coming as long as I am in Dallas."  ~Raj Murthi, now residing in India

"Yoga has helped me reduce stress, become more aware of my body movement and postures, and taught me ways to relax. I practice daily and it has made positive changes in all areas of my life. I have taken yoga from several instructors and Ranjana Pallana, by far,has been the best teacher. She integrates everything into her class and truly makes changes in people's lives for the better." ~Susan Moushegean, Cognitive Therapist

"Yoga has opened my eyes to my own body - as to which postures are good for my general health and well-being and which ones are harmful [best to practice at a later date]. It has helped me in my job by teaching me ways to de-stress. In addition, it has helped me to confirm my belief in the inter-connection of all things. Thanks." ~Tom Cheatham, Geologist

"I found the class very relaxing and helpful. I left feeling rejuvinated. The instructor considered the needs of all the students. I was new at yoga, and very challenged by the experience. The other students were also encouraged to stretch their limits." ~Betty Hutson, Co-Owner of Kettle Restaurant Lewisville

"I began taking yoga seven years ago upon the advice of a physical therapist. I had sever pain and tension in my neck and shoulders because of TMJ and clenching my teeth. My reaction to stress was to clench my teeth - the physical therapist had given up trying to relax my muscles and realized I needed to relax myself, then finally recommended yoga.

In addition to learning the discipline of relaxation through the breath, I have also seen other benefits. They include:

  • weight stabilization

  • increased mobility

  • sleeping better

  • most important of all - decreasing anxiety

Whenever I feel anxious, I start the yoga breathing, focus on my unviersal energy and goodness and relax into the peaceful energy around me." ~Lynda

"When I first started yoga I noticed a big improvement in my tennis game -- almost immediately. I was able to concentrate more and was a lot more fluid." ~ H. Roger

"Yoga class is wonderful! I was instructed by my physician to take this class. I have found it to be extremely beneficial. I can feel the good changes taking place in my body, more flexibility, and a feeling of more peace. It is very relaxing for the body and mind." ~Jennifer Bradley

"To anyone considering the practice of yoga: I am writing this letter to share with you the benefits I have found in a few short weeks of practicing yoga, and to express my gratitude to Ranjana.
I have always been an athletic person, but as I have gotten older (36), I have also gotten lazier. I don't run five miles a day, I don't rollerblade very often, in fact, I don't even walk on a regular basis. I was looking for something new, and I decided to try yoga.
After the first two classes I felt more relaxed. I was really looking forward to my third class, because by this time, I could tell the difference. My legs and hips felt much better. They were more open, not as tight. I noticed that my thighs and waist were more toned and I think my metabolism was even increased. This was GREAT!
I decided to go to as many classes as I could fit into my schedule, and have now been to a total of fifteen classes in a few short weeks. I feel so much better. My neck feels better than it has in five years. (I go to a chiropractor on a regular basis.) I am so much more relaxed. It is hard to explain the relaxation effect but I feel like I do when I am on vacation -- I walk slower, I am calmer, traffic doesn't bother me, etc. It is really incredible.
My muscles feel stronger, I am more flexible, my posture is better, my back and shoulders are not knotted and tight all the time. I feel like I am enjoying the present more because I am more relaxed and physically comfortable. The difference is really amazing, and I am thrilled at the result that I see and feel.
I highly recommend yoga -- its a terrific combination of exercise and relaxation/stress reduction. It will also help you get in touch with yourself and enjoy life even more."
~Margaret Ragland

"I have had fibromyalgia for one year. Three months after I was diagnosed I started coming to Ranjana's yoga once per week at her noon class. I was very fatigued and my body hurt all over. The class, only once a week, was helping my body as I had less pain and more energy. Due to personal finances I did not come to yoga for three months, but did some at home. Obviously that was not enough as my pain had become much worse. I had just started back to yoga and I have no doubt that I will be feeling much better with more energy. These classes are saving my life my life both physically and mentally." ~ Nancy Tervelt

"I am feeling stronger more flexible. It is good to concentrate and get my mind away from worry and concerns." ~Elaine Louborg

"Yoga energizes me and relaxes my mind and body."  ~Carolyn Frey

"Yoga is so much fun! Yoga is a total body workout! Yoga makes you feel good!" ~Anonymous

"You are the best teacher around. Your classes are truly better than anyone else's. Your classes are deeper than any other classes I've been in. They have an intuitive flow that goes with the energy of the body itself. The sequencing of asanas is very unique. Others teachers teach static poses straight from the book, but your poses flow with your great intuition and knowledge of the body." ~Betsy Lanier

"I have had many massages from the magic and healing hands of Ranjana. These massages have been very consistent in their many benefits to me. First, I always feel better immediately after the massage but even better as each day passes. Several of the massages have followed either injuries or periodic backaches that I have had. This is when I feel the results the most. Ranjana is very knowledgeable about how emotions and experiences can be stored in internal organs, muscles, and tissues and is able, with her healing hands, to work them out in a way I’ve never before experienced. I would recommend anyone who is experiencing pain or discomfort of any kind to try a full body massage by Ranjana." ~Walter J. Ainsworth

"I am exploring many different (yet similar) spiritual paths - not in search of a religion or a ghuru - more an evolution of philosophy. I am enjoying all the different ways of perceiving our perceptions. It's a journey! It started 13 years ago with you telling my yoga class to imagine ourselves floating above our bodies looking down at ourselves. I used to think all that imagery was hooey, but, eventually (after many MANY years), it began to sink in. What seemed strange at first began feeling familiar. One concept led to another. And . . . here I am . . . still on the journey -- but further down the road. Be well, my friend." ~Sharon R., Attorney

"As a physical therapist working primarily with children, I have utilized yoga breathing techniques to enhance my therapeutic intervention. Combining the breathing with my hands on techniques has allowed children with tightness and spasticity, caused from neurological problems, to gain a greater range of motion and stretch with less strain and resistance. It seems that my breathing rhythm has a calming effect on them and, in turn, they allow me to achieve these results." ~ Rebecca Kaye, Child Physical Therapist

"I value yoga for many reasons but the one that I enjoy most is the difference it has made in my golf game. I play several times each week and, at age 73, have found that yoga adds significantly to the length of my drives. For anyone who enjoys golf and wants to improve their game, yoga will bring significant advantages. With increased flexibility and improved well being, I am sure that I am ill far less (rarely, if ever) and enjoy playing on a par with much younger players thanks to my increased stamina and flexibility. One of my long-time friends, a physical therapist, noted after not seeing me for several years, that my posture has improved unbelievably. I also find that yoga is a wonderful activity to share with my wife. We think of it as a gift we give ourselves and each other each day. If we can keep ourselves healthier we will enjoy our lives more and have far less burdens that typically come with aging and loss of good health." ~Larry Cooper, D.D.S.

"The first morning I went to Ranjana's yoga class I noticed a significant difference in the energy. I had attended other yoga classes but they lacked the spiritual, grounding energy I experienced with Ranjana. The first year I attended once a week and gradually, over the past nine years have increased to attending daily.

I personally notice significant benefits. My energy is much greater. I am calmer and more centered. I am clearly more flexible. Days when I might be tempted to stay home because I am feeling a bit under the weather I have noticed that if I attend anyway, when I leave the class I feel much better and stronger with greater energy. I also value the many wonderful people I meet and learn from. Dr. Emoto who wrote "Messages from Water" came one evening to speak as did HRM who spoke on sun gazing. We found a fabulous vegan caterer through Ranjana and have many special friendships from other regular class members and yoga teachers.

Larry, my husband, began to attend with me almost five years ago. Larry is a retired dentist who had developed a hump at the top of his spine from forty years of being bent over a dental chair. He also has had bow legs since childhood. Now his spine is beautifully straight and his legs are much straighter. Even his spine is amazingly more flexible. He has a fusion between L4 and L5 vertebra which has significantly limited his flexibility. Yet now it is amazing how much range of motion he has gained.

Whereas at the beginning I struggled to find time for practicing yoga in my life, now I can't imagine not devoting ninety minutes each day. Everything goes better thanks to yoga. I am more patient, more intuitive, more organized and have far better energy. At age 69, I am enjoying the energy and flexibility I had in my late 30's.

NOTE: Ann is an author, executive coach, business consultant and futurist, who teaches Servant Leadership to organizational leaders."
~Ann McGee-Cooper, Ed.D.

"You should know that I reference you continuously in the classes I teach - I've learned so much from you! You've even taught me some things that the people I teach with who are more experienced didn't know . . . I never realized that I had this storehouse of information that I have absorbed from you! I feel so blessed to have you not only as a friend, but as a mentor. Ranjana, what makes a person a guru? Doesn't that word just mean teacher? I feel like you are my guru." ~Maggie

"Taking Yoga for nearly four years at Ranjana's Studio has greatly enhanced the quality of my life. Yoga has reduced my stress levels and significantly improved my flexibility. At 58, my flexibility is greater than some of my friends who are 10-15 years younger. My improved flexibility has contributed to reducing my golf handicap and now I no longer need the meds to relieve the aches and pains in my back after a round of golf!" ~Dennis Ardizonni

"Like many, I came to yoga because of physical illness. I was very fortunate to begin my yoga practice with Ranjana who embodies yoga wisdom, compassion and mastery. Through her example a new way of life has emerged based on mental, emotional, physical and spiritual balance. Even though I am a dance educator, it has been exciting to discover my body in new ways. I have such gratitude for my experience." ~ Liz Gallego, Dance Educator

"Ranjana Pallana's work is beautiful, an integration of mind, body and spirit. It is medically sound, and I recommend it is a valuable method of physical and spiritual enhancement." ~Larry Dossey M.D. author of Time, Space and Medicine
