Breathing in Yoga

In the western world, the understanding of breathing is that it supplies Oxygen to the body and brain. Yoga maintance that breath carries a very special agent, very vital to the health, this agent is called Prana in Yogic term. Ki or Chi in Japan and China. Without prana, universe will not exist. Breath is a communication line between the body and mind. Yoga has many pranayama (sci of breathing)  techniques for achieving various results for mental and physical health. remember people use to harness the wind energy to sail the ship?  Air/wind (prana) has a huge energy and yoga has learnt to harness it for the benefit of the people.
 

Yoga vs. Exercise

Regular exercise or athletic sport is focused on burning calories and building the muscles. Yoga considers the physical body a vehicle for the expresson of the soul. You are not your body. There is soul that dwells in that body which is of utmost importance. Yes we will take care of th body. Hatha yoga helps the body to change at the cellular level. Emphasis on stretching with full awareness on breath ,which helps remove the impurities from intercellular and intracellular level. Balancing, inverted postures will help the mind to be quiet,centered and  peaceful. One will be able to handle the stress constructively. It will make the body supple and strong at the same time. Suppleness is the key to rejuvination.
 

Yoga and Healing

Healing takes place from inside out. Most of the time we create the health problems, through sheer neglect and lack of knowledge. Body gives you ample signals before breaking down. Yoga will help you stay in tune with the body and mind. And one can start improving ones health, in most cases.

Yoga and Health Issues

Yoga was designed to keep you from getting sick. If you have any health issues we will have a discussion before the class. Will try to show some modifications, follow some precautions as the case may be. With proper guidance you will improve your health. Remove the toxins from the body. Supply good nutrition and practice yoga.
 

Yoga Preparation

Try not to eat three hours before the class. If that is a problem, have something light two hours prior. You cannot do Yoga with full stomach.
 

How Often to Attend Yoga Class

Two to Three times a week is a good frequency. We keep reminding you to watch your comfort zone, work accordingly to your capacity, in the beginning. Practice will make you better. Watch your breath, which is the key to be able to progress well.
 

What to Wear for Yoga Class

Loose fitting comfortable clothes, leotard and tights or shorts for  and T-shirt for men. Or light gym (cotton) clothes.
 

How to Choose a Yoga Class

These are multilevel traditional Hatha Yoga classes. We tailor the classes according to the students in the class at the time. Or we would recommend an appropriate teachers class that would be right for them.
